Applications :: Safari Asking For A Password To Access The Keychain / Keychain Can't Be Found
Jan 19, 2009Safari keeps giving me popup windows saying a keychain can't be found. It's only just started doing this but it's really annoying. Could it have anything to do with the fact I installed a new flash player? That's the only difference I can think of.Also on another computer it keeps asking for a password to access the keychain. It only does this on one user account though. Any assistance is gladly accepted!

OS X :: Keychain Access - Password To Unlock?
Oct 13, 2010I recently created a Sparse Disk Image that I've password protected. When I try to open the Disk Image I get a popup window that has the words 'Keychain Access' as the window title and the following text below that: 'To perform this action you must unlock the keychain. Please enter the keychain password.' Now, this is pretty straight forward (obviously). My question is, how do I (once I've unlocked the keychain and opened the Disk Image) immediately lock the keychain again so that if I step away from my computer my keychain isn't still open?
OS X :: Deleting Password From Keychain Access Page
Jul 2, 2009I'm selling my trusty G4 Powerbook and have a quick question about keychains. I erased my entire drive & reloaded all software. Cisco asav license keygen. Somehow my keychain got populated with my password for the airport express and would like to know if I delete it from the keychain access page - is this securly deleted or could the new owner retrive it if he wantd to?
OS X :: Forgot Original Keychain Access Password?
Jul 12, 2009I am new to this forum. I am writting on behalf of my neighbor who has forgotten her original keychain access password.
Because of that, we cant get into keychain to retrieve passwords.
I have been looking online for a way to solve this problem.
The only solution I am coming up with is to delete the keychain folder and reinstall it.
I know only enough about computers to get into trouble.
She has a 10.4.7
Any clues? Ive already messed her computer up a bit by deleting a few things I shouldnt have.

OS X :: Keychain Access Acting Up - Enter Administrative Password
Dec 4, 2010I don't remember ever having this problem since Keychain first appeared. About a week ago I changed my login password and now when I attempt to look at any of my Keychain passwords my computer prompts me to enter my Keychain password (which is my OLD login password) rather than allowing me to enter my new administrative login password. I don't want to have to remember two passwords when only a week ago I only ever had to enter my one current administrative password to authorize Keychain Access to allow me to look at any of my numerous passwords in its window pane. How can I get it to only require me to enter my one new/current adminstrative password? I tried 'Keychain First Aid' and error messages to appeared stating: Verification Terminated Unexpectedly or Repair Terminated Unexpectedly A reviewer at MacUpdate had the same experience with Keychain First Aid that I did

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Access Lost Keychain / Keychain Cannot Be Found For Safari
Jun 29, 2009I'm sure this is a very basic question, but having just made the Mac switch a week ago.I am lost. when I did a forum search, I found out how to access keychains, but I'm not sure if I found something particular to my question- please forgive me if I overlooked something.
I was downloading microsoft software last night and all of a sudden I began getting these little pop-ups that say 'A keychain cannot be found for safari' with the option to cancel or reset to default.
how can I fix this so it doesn't happen?

Software :: Keychain Not Working After Admin Password Changed
Aug 1, 2009Is there a circumstance under which a 'login' keychain would be missing? I thought it was created by default using the user's login password and was unlocked when they logged in. I'm working (long distance) with a friend who's having Keychain problems and can't seem to work this one out. He's got an iMac running 10.4.11. He recently changed his admin password (I don't know why) and Keychain stopped working. Easy enough, run Keychain First Aid. He says that this reports no problems, but the only keychains he has are 'system', 'microsoft_intermediate_certificates', and 'x509 anchors'. This is where I get lost.
OS X :: Using Keychain Access - Safari / Keychain Fill Passwords Automatically?
May 9, 2009I've never used OSX before about a week ago, but I am picking up on it well (I've used GNU/Linux for almost ten years so I know my way around an operating system). But I don't really think keychain access is working as it should. It's hard to explain. I mean, the way I understand it, shouldn't it be saving the passwords I type into Safari and auto-filling them? Because it only auto-fills some passwords. Paypal autofills, but my bank's website doesn't, and even this forum doesn't autofill. I have to type in my password every time I visit.
Is this working as intended? Is there a way I can get Safari or Keychain to fill in all passwords for me automatically? This is leopard on an iMac G5 iSight model. I did a fresh install like a week ago. Sorry if my question is vague but that's the best I can do with the amount I understand.

Software :: Using Password For Standard User Account / Safari Is Asking For A Keychain Password
May 11, 2009I'm working on a Mac-mini running OS X Tiger. Adobe lightroom for mac patch. I've got one admin account setup and 5 or so standard accounts. I'm configuring a connection to a shared folder on a network server on the standard accounts and I wanted to connect to that share using an account id that is DIFFERENT than the standard account id. I enter that id and the correct password and I check 'save password in keychain' (or whatever that check box says) and I get prompted to enter the 'keychain password' to unlock the keychain. The problem is, I never setup a keychain password for the standard user account. I'v tried the password for the administrator account (even though I can't specify the admin id anywhere) and I've tried the password for the standard user account, neither of which work.
However, I can still get successfully connected to the shared folder. I just don't want the user to have to enter the password each time they login.
Additionally, after going through this, Safari is now asking for a keychain password for the 'login' keychain when it first starts up and loads the default Apple.com home page.

Make your Mac fast and secure with CleanMyMac X.
You generally buy a MacBook because you want a quality laptop that’s easy-to-use and doesn’t suffer from bugs or hardware failures. So it’s truly disheartening to discover that there have been a slew of MacBook keyboard issues plaguing recent models.
Is your MacBook Pro keyboard not working? You’re not alone. Lots of users have been experiencing issues with their Apple butterfly keyboards as well.
Naturally, Apple is working to fix the problem in upcoming models of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, but if you’ve bought one in the last few years, unfortunately, those fixes aren’t going to help you.
Let’s find out the steps you need to take to fix your MacBook keyboard quickly.

It’s a dedicated toolkit for solving every keyboard problem through the best applications. Let us deliver Setapp to your Mac in one click.
Why Is Mac Keyboard Not Working?
Before you can fix the problem, first you have to determine exactly what the problem is. There are a few possible issues that could lead to your MacBook keyboard not working.
One thing to note is that a MacBook keyboard isn’t like most other keyboards on the market. Instead of using a scissor-like mechanism, MacBooks feature a proprietary Apple butterfly-like keyboard with a slightly different design.
Ever wondered how Apple laptops are so slim? Part of that is the butterfly keyboard mechanism. Whereas most keyboards’ scissor mechanism provides tension on keys so that they click back into place once you finish typing, Apple designed a minimal switch as slim and elegant as a butterfly — hence the name.
Unfortunately, the butterfly keyboard is also just as fragile as a butterfly too. If even one spec of dust gets under a key and into the mechanism, it can lead to problems like a key repeating, sticking, or not registering hits at all.
It’s one thing if your Z key sticks occasionally. It’s another if your spacebar won’t work. Thus, fixing your MacBook keyboard can’t be put off for very long once it’s stopped working.
How do I fix a MacBook keyboard or MacBook Pro keyboard?
The short answer is: not you. The longer answer is an authorized Apple dealer will fix your MacBook Pro keyboard for free.
In some rare cases a blast of compressed air could clear the dust from the keyboard. Even though it won’t do the job for most, it’s worth trying since a can of air only costs a few dollars. But don’t expect salvation.
Apple has admitted that there’s a flaw with their design and as long as your MacBook is recognized as one of the afflicted models (if your keyboard isn’t working, it probably is) then all you have to do is take your laptop to an Apple Authorized Service Provider, Apple Retail Store, or Apple Repair Center, and they’ll handle your MacBook or MacBook Pro keyboard replacement.
It’s worth noting, however, that Apple created this service program after three class-action lawsuits. There were a lot of users with a Mac keyboard not working, and if they hadn’t taken action this fix would cost hundreds of dollars.
Part of the problem is that it isn’t simply a matter of replacing a single key on the butterfly keyboard — the entire MacBook keyboard has to be replaced, making it a fairly significant repair job. It can take up to five days before the shop is able to get the right parts and make the replacement.
Remember: Before taking your computer into the shop, always back up its most important data — even if you have to use a USB or Bluetooth keyboard to get it done.

2. Disable the Force Click option
In some cases, if your MacBook Pro trackpad isn’t working, you can try to disable Force Click to fix the issue:
- Open System Preferences in your Applications folder
- Click Trackpad
- Navigate to the Point & Click tab
- Uncheck the Force Click option
Note: This fix will only work for MacBooks with 3D Touch, but it’s relatively easy to do and worth a shot.
3. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC)
A lot of bugs and performance issues can be solved by resetting your Mac’s System Management Controller. There are two ways of doing so. For Macs with a non-removable battery:

MacBook Pro keyboard and trackpad not working?
If both your MacBook keyboard and trackpad aren’t working, then there are a few possible problems that might be causing the issue: hardware and software. Here are a few more tips to test before taking your MacBook into an Authorized Apple Service Provider.
1. Delete .plist files
It’s possible that somewhere along the line your software settings have changed and contributed to keyboard and trackpad malfunction. Try setting them back to their factory defaults by deleting your .plist (or “property list”) files.
- Back up your computer with the Time Machine fist
- Open Finder
- Press ⌘ + Shift + G
- Enter ~/Library/Preferences/ into the new bar and hit Go
- Find and highlight these files:

com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse.plist
com.apple.driver.AppleHIDMouse.plist
com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist
com.apple.preference.trackpad.plist
- Delete them and reboot your Mac
2. Reset PRAM
Getting your Parameter RAM back to zero is a useful way of removing prescient glitches from your system:
- Shut down your MacBook
- Reboot, but while the computer is booting press and hold ⌘ + Option + P + R until the gray screen appears
- Release the keys after you hear the reboot sound
3. Restore your Mac to an earlier version
If your keyboard or trackpad issues have just started, it’s possible that a recent change in software or settings has caused the problem. To fix it, just roll back your Mac a few saved backups:
- Restart your Mac
- While the system is rebooting, open the Recovery Tool by pressing ⌘ + R
- Choose Restore from the Time Machine backup
- Proceed according to instructions
